I NEED penpal letters. If you have not emailed your penal letter to me, please do so as soon as possible.

I will correct it and email it back to you. When you have made the corrections, let me know you are done.

If you do not have the penpal outline, please check your Language Folder. I have shared it with you.

Below are the paragraphs that the class wrote explaining Ottawa and Canada. You may copy and paste these paragraphs into your letter.

I live in Ottawa, which is in Canada. Ottawa is the capital city of Canada. Just last year, it reached 1 000 000 residents. We are best known for a skating rink. The Rideau Canal is said to be the longest skating rink in the world, it stretches for 7 whole kilometers. Ottawa also has a number of professional teams. Our hockey team is called the Senators and sadly, they are not having a good season. Our football, that is American Football, team is called the Redblacks. Ottawa is also known for our Beaver tails, which are like long, flat, cinnamon donuts.

Canada is a great country to live. It is the second largest country in the world, after Russia. Our national sports are hockey and lacrosse. Our national animal is the beaver. There are a number of misconceptions about Canada that I would like to clear up. Firstly, we do not ride polar bears to school. We ride busses like the rest of the world. Next, we do not drink maple syrup, however, we do like it on our pancakes and waffles. Lastly, we do not live in igloos and we do not end every sentence with ‘eh’, eh...Oops.
