This Week's Religion Activity:

THE ROAD TO EMMAUS BIBLE STORY

After Jesus rose from the dead, he appeared to many of his disciples. He encountered two of these disciples shortly after his death and resurrection just outside of Jerusalem on the road to a village called Emmaus. * Read this story in the Gospel of Luke 24:13–35 Reflection Questions: 1) When did the disciples finally recognize Jesus? 2) Who helps you understand the scriptures? 3) Why do you think Jesus appeared to the disciples? 4) Write a summary of the story or retell it to a family member. Remember that you can write your responses in your Religion Answers Doc in your Religion Folder.

Class Yearbook

Together, we are going to create a virtual Class of 2020 yearbook for you to keep as a reminder of your final year at Convent Glen Catholic School.

Please follow the steps below and as always, email me if you have any questions.

* You are going to use the skills that you acquired completing your magazine project to construct and design TWO amazing pages all about you.

* A Google Slideshow has been shared for you in your Language Folder.

* Please remember to ONLY work on your own slides.

* Unlike the Farewell Celebration slide, this page is all yours to design within the framework outlined below.

* Note that I have added your name to your two slides using Word Art.

Slide 1 - All About ME

* Choose a background. Make sure that it is subtle and does not overpower the words or photos on the page.

* Your FIRST name should be prominent. Use the WORD ART functions to make your name FANCY.

* Add facts about you. Things like your birthday, your family, favourite things, sports, hobbies, etc. (See 'Note' below)

* Add a photo or two of you. At least one photo should be a photo from this year which clearly shows your face. You can choose one from your files or copy and paste your grad photo. The second photo can be one from your childhood or a picture of you doing something you love to do.

* Adjust the fonts and photo sizes. Make sure that you fill up the page.

Hint: You can use a lot of the information from your 'All About Me' slide in your Magazine Project.

Slide #2 - Who I Am

* Use the same background as your first slide.

* Slide #2 should be set up similarly to the silhouettes that sixth grade students have done in previous years.

* Insert words, pictures, photos, logos, anything that describes YOU!

* Again, use the WORD ART functions to make your name, words and phrases FANCY.

* Adjust the fonts and photo sizes. Make sure that you fill up the page.

****Please try to be finished designing your page by JUNE 19th.****

Thursday's Answers

Solve for a, and use that number to solve for b

1) 3 x a = 21, a = 7

7 + b = 16, b = 9

2) 20 - a = 15, a = 5

5 + 4 x b = 17, b = 3

3)

3 x 8 + 2 x 7

= 24 + 14

= 38

The correct answer is d

4)

The correct answer is h 10

Wednesday's Answers

1) a – 8 / 2 = 6 + 4, so a - 4 = 10, a = 14

2) b + 3 x 4 = 14 + 7, so b + 12 = 21, b = 9

3) 8c + 4 = 30 x 2, so 8c + 4 = 60, c = 7

4) 3d + 8 = 18 - 10, so 3d + 8 = 8, d = 0

5) Solve for a, and use that number to solve for b

3 + a = 7, a = 4

4 + b = 6, b = 2

6) a x 5 = 15, a = 3

3 + 24 - b = 25, b = 2

7)

6 x a = 12, so a = 2

So, 6 x 2 - b = 8, so b = 4

The correct answer is b 4

Tuesday's Answers

1) a – 10 / 2 = 6, a = 11 2) b + 5 x 3 = 24, b = 9 3) 7c + 6 = 27, c = 3 4) 4d - 8 = 28 - 12, d = 6

Find the value of each expression if y = 4 and z = 3

5) 3 + 4 = 7 6) 4 + 24 - 3 = 25

7)

The correct answer is b 4, as 20 + 12 = 32 and 5 x 4 = 20

Monday's Answers

1) a – 10 = 2, a = 12 2) b + 15 = 26, b = 11 3) 11c = 33, c = 3 4) 24d = 48, d = 2

Find the value of each expression if y = 8

5) y + 4 x 2 = 16 6) 7 + 24 / y = 10

* Remember to do the multiplication/division first

7)

The correct answer is d

6)

The correct answer is a

Friday's Answers

Find the value of each expression if y = 4

1) y + 6 = 10 2) 7 x y = 28 3) 12 / y = 3 4) y - 2 = 2

5)

Step #1 - Calculate the cost per pencil

Store A - $1.80 / 60 = $0.03

Store B - $0.99/ 30 = $0.033*

Store C - $0.55 / 15 = $0.0367**

* Note that you cannot round off the cost because you need to find the TRUE cost of 2400 pencils in order to accurately figure out which store is cheapest.

** Note that you HAVE to round Store C's cost per pencil as it is 0.036666666666...the 6 repeats.

Step #2 - Calculate the cost of buying 2400 pencils

Store A - $0.03 x 2400 = $72

Store B - $0.033 x 2400 = $79.20

Store C - $0.0367 x 2400 = $88.08

Therefore, Store A has the lowest price for 2400 pencils.

6)

The correct answer is b.
