November update - class band!!

2 months!! Kudos to all the students for following the band safety procedures for us to be able to have 7 lessons! I am so proud of all the students for their positive attitudes and determination, they are making great progress and I thank you for encouraging them!
Here is the latest band update:
1. Class band! Check out this video about how we have been given permission to meet for small band practice (students from the same classroom, every other week, for 20 minutes in the gym, socially distant) Please let me know if you do not want your child to come to class band practices.
2. Grades - there will be no grades on report cards for any of the specials this year including band. I am sharing feedback on your child's progress using SeeSaw - watch for videos, Karate Challenge pics and goal sheet pics.
3. Home Practice - It's great hearing about all the activities students are involved in, if your child has a busy schedule please work together to make a plan to practice 3-4 days for 10-15 minutes. This regular home practice helps them become strong music readers, have success at their band lessons and enjoy playing their instrument.
4. Quarantine lessons - if your child is quarantined, we can meet for a virtual band lesson with them using Google Meet if they are interested - please let me know and I will get you possible times!
