There are two types of supported cameras. Industrial cameras and cameras for microscopy. Industrial cameras do not come with a general purpose microscopy software while microscope cameras do!
If you only want to do scanning, industrial cameras are the best choice, because you save approximately 1500 EUR compared to a microscope camera.
Currently, these camera vendors are supported:
Basler
- Basler Microscopy PowerPack cameras Ace 2.3MP Ace 3.2MP, Ace 5.0 MP (comes with an OEM version of an Olympus microscope image acquisition software)
- Basler industrial cameras with USB 3.0 and global shutter image sensors (no micro imaging application included)
IDS Imaging
- all industrial USB 3.0 / USB 3.1 cameras with global shutter sensor (no micro imaging application included)
Lumenera
- INFINITY2 series (except INFINITY2-3) (comes with Lumenera micro imaging application)
- INFINITY3 series (comes with Lumenera micro imaging application)
- INFINITY5 series (comes with Lumenera micro imaging application)
- all industrial USB 3.0 cameras with global shutter image sensors (no micro imaging application included)
ImagingSource
- all USB 3.0 cameras with global shutter sensors (basic micro imaging application included)
PointGrey
- all USB 3.0 cameras with global shutter sensors (except Blackfly S series) (no micro imaging application included)
Recommended camera depending on camera adapter*:
* these general recommendations are a rule of thumb. For specific scanning tasks, other combinations may produce better results or reduce scanning time significantly.
