Activity One: What is a Chromebook?
Please review the video on the right to learn about using Chromebooks in MDUSD.
Activity Two: Chromebook Cart Management Tips
- Label devices with a number and cart name or number.
- Assign each student a Chromebook by the number on the Chromebook.
- Distribute Chromebooks to small groups of students to stagger login to avoided WiFi issues.
- Assign students to help ensure all the Chromebooks are put away and charging.
- Charge every night, during lunch and breaks if necessary.
Activity Three: Using Chromebooks in the Classroom
The video on the right is a short animation to help your students learn rules for using Chromebooks in your classroom such as:
- Use 2 hands
- No food or drinks near Chromebooks
- Follow teacher instructions
- Tell your teacher when you see something inappropriate

Please take the time to do the following:
1. Login to the Chromebook.
2. Practice pinning and unpinning apps.
3. Check out some apps in the Chrome Web Store.
4. Download and play with some apps that interest you from the
Chrome Web Store.
