1. Attend class. You'll be surprise how much you learn simply by being in class.
2. Read the textbook each day after we have covered the material in class. You don't have to read the entire chapter all at once. In fact, you are likely to retain more if you read portions of a chapter at a time. Only read what we've covered in class, but make sure you do it on the same day.
3. Write detailed answers to each of the study guide questions that are found at: https://sites.google.com/a/mail.ic.edu/professorkleineconomics/home/my-classes/economics105/econ-105-study-guide. A link to this site is found on the class web site at: https://sites.google.com/a/mail.ic.edu/professorkleineconomics/home/my-classes/economics105
4. Complete all questions found in the published study guide that was included in your textbook purchase. If you do not recall where that is, the web link can also be found on the class web site and also at http://www.bvtlab.com/login.php. You have to create a free account using the access code that came with the text book purchase. There are primarily three sections in the study guide to each chapter. The first part is called the walking tour. This forces you to read the textbook to complete the vocabulary quiz. The second part is a problem solving portion. Completing this portion allows you to practice applying the material covered in class. The third portion is a sample multiple exam. This gives you practice working with the course material. Finally, all of the answers to the questions are provided at the end of each study guide chapter.
5. Complete all sample quizzes on the bvtlab web site.
6. Practice the flashcards on the bvtlab web site.
7. Complete all relevant sample exams for the next exam. Those too are located on the course web site but the direct link is https://sites.google.com/a/mail.ic.edu/professorkleineconomics/home/my-classes/economics105/sample-exams-1
If you complete all of the above work, in a consistent and timely fashion, i.e., not at the last minute, you are likely to find a very significant increase in your performance in the class.
