1. List and explain the steps associated with Risk Analysis. Then go to http://www.epa.gov/iris/ and chose a chemical for the FULL LIST of final assessment. Read the analysis summary for that chemical and explain the risk analysis process for that chemical. Your discussion should include the chemicals name, the exposure path, the dose analysis, potential problems caused by exposure, and possibly remediation issues involved with your chosen chemical. 30 points
2. Within the next few months, fractured drilling will begin to take place in the state of Illinois. Research and explain the concept of fractured drilling (Fracing) and then discuss the environmental and economic implications of this type of resource recovery. Include in your discussion the risk analysis that is needed to assure public safety from the extraction of natural gas in Illinois using this process. 30 points
3. Why must environmental costs and benefits be assessed when considering environmental initiatives? Explain in detail as well as methodology on how we might determine values for both costs and benefits. 40 points
