Committee Description: The Student Equity Strategies Committee identifies and fosters effective strategies to eliminate equity gaps among students.
Purpose and goals:
Investigates barriers to success for students of equity populations at CCSF: American Indian/Alaska Native, Black or African American, Filipino/a/x, Latino/a/x, Pacific Islander; students with disabilities (DSPS), foster youth, LGBTQIA+, and housing insecure.
Identifies support needed to increase student success among equity populations.
Advises the Academic Senate on effective strategies for achieving student equity.
Fosters college-wide dialog on the equity gap and progress of equity populations.
Promotes information sharing among other colleges, schools and universities.
Reviews the CCSF Student Equity Plan as needed.
Consults and collaborates with instructional departments, student services, and committees as appropriate.
Consults and collaborates with the Office of Research and Planning to analyze the identified CCCCO and local metrics, disaggregated by student demographics; and to evaluate effectiveness of various implemented strategies to eliminate equity gaps.
Reads, reviews and ranks proposals related to categorical student equity funding.
Committee Membership : all programs and departments welcome; no more than 2 members from the same department or program.
