Committee Description: The Faculty Professional Development Activities Committee (FPDAC) recommends policies for faculty professional development at CCSF. It is responsible for assessing faculty needs and making recommendations about faculty professional development programs that encourage more equity-minded reflection on how institutional and individual classroom practices impact student success and support the College Mission, institutional plans, accreditation and legal requirements.
Responsibilities:
Develop a professional development plan for faculty consistent with the College Mission, Educational Master Plan, other institutional plans, accreditation standards and legal requirements.
Make recommendations for professional development activities to support faculty in staying current with evolving pedagogy, technology, and student learning needs, particularly for student populations who have demonstrated opportunity gaps in access, retention, graduation, etc.Â
Propose guidelines and procedures for faculty professional development activity proposals.
Evaluate the effectiveness of professional development activities and make recommendations for improvement.
Establish appropriate timelines to complete tasks and make recommendations.
