Students who do not count on Table 4B
Students whose Entry Level is ABE L6 are not included on Table 4B because there is not a row on the table for this Entry Level. Even if a student pretested at a lower assessed level in another subject area and was then posttested in that subject area, the student will not be included on Table 4B since there isn't a row that includes his Entry Level of ABE L6. If you need to change the subject area being used to determine the student's Entry Level, you can do so by clicking the Move Forward button to the right of the assessment that should be used and selecting "Use as Subject Area for PoP1." However, once determined, this placement level should not be changed during the program year.
When there are no hours in 90 days between one assessment and another assessment that calculates the entry level in a PoP, the first assessment is ignored for determining a student's inclusion on Table 4B as being pre and posttested.
For example:
Student's first assessment in the FY places them at ABE L2.
The student does earn enough instruction hours to be placed in a PoP.
90+ days after the date of the last activity (either the assessment or the hours), the student is assessed again at ABE L4.
Student earns 12 or more hours after the last activity to be placed in a PoP.
ABE L4 will populate the entry level of the PoP.
Even though the student appears to have been posttested with a gain, they did not because the student did not have hours between the two assessments without a gap.
This student will NOT count on Table 4B.
