What is a Computer?
A computer is an electronic device that stores and processes data based on instructions from a program
Hardware: Physical parts like the Monitor, Motherboard, CPU, SSD, and a Case/Tower.
Software: Programs such as Calculator, Photoshop, or Roblox Studio that tell the hardware what to do.
The Operating System (OS) is the software that manages everything on a computer. (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android)
What is a Browser?
A browser is software that lets you access the internet.
It connects to websites to show content like text, pictures, videos, and games.
In this class, we will use Firefox.
Other popular browsers: Safari (Apple), Chrome (Google), and Edge (Microsoft).
File Organization
A file is any item saved on a computer, like a document, picture, or video.
Folders organize files; you can place folders inside other folders (called nesting).
Alternatively, use Google Drive, a cloud-based storage system requiring internet access.
Saving Work
Access the Documents folder on the computer’s hard drive (local save)
Save your work in your Period Folder, inside of Documents
If you do not save your work, it will not update and progress will be lost!
