After a review of what we did last week and attendance, we were introduced to our guest speaker Mr. Boyd, the assistant principal. Handling schedules and evaluating the math, agriculture, and world languages are his job. He graduated from Concordia University with a major in math, and he played basketball there. His first job was in Las Vegas for seven years and he taught and coached basketball at a Lutheran school. Later he moved back to Nebraska because of family ties and it is his home. After teaching 12 more years in math he got a masters in administration at UNK. After teaching and coaching for so long he grew to really appreciate humility, integrity, and patience. He also learned that a leader should strive to serve others and to rein in one's emotions. Eventually our time with him came to a close and we voted on what this year's tee shirts should say. The vote came to a purple shirt with white text saying "aspire to aim higher". Finally we cleaned up and said our good byes slightly more learned that before.
