Assignment for The Lottery
Directions: You are going to create a newspaper article that reports on the events that occurred in the story. You will need to pay close attention to the themes and motifs that occur in the story when writing your article.
Steps:
1. Read the story
2. Construct a newspaper article that reports on the event that transpired in the story. In your news article, you must portray the theme of the story as well as analyze the motifs of the society in which the story takes place.
3. Give your article a title and a by-line
4. Your article needs to include the 5 Ws, be written in proper news fashion, formatted in columns, and be at least 2 columns in length.
5. Direct quotes from the story must be utilized and include in the article to show the theme and motifs.
