The goal of the Becker School District Industrial Technology program is to develop students who are technologically literate. Technologically literate students can understand and appreciate the highly technical world in which they live. The industrial technology department also emphasizes both knowing and doing and applies mathematics, science, and communication concepts to “real world” problems citizens face in their daily lives. These classes require higher order skills such as analysis and synthesis to solve problems, constructing usable devices, and understanding industrial technical systems.
The curriculum is aligned to the Standards for Technological Literacy detailed HERE.
