Curriculum

Curriculum is the sequencing and pacing of content along with the experiences students have with that content. Marzano, 2003

The Becker Public School is committed to the implementation of a Guaranteed and Viable curriculum. Guaranteed curriculum means that all students are provided with adequate opportunity to learn the most critical content in a grade level or class. Viable curriculum means the the content for any grade level or class can be adequately taught in the time available.

Curriculum review is the process of articulating and implementing a guaranteed and viable curriculum aligned to Minnesota and/or National standards. This continuous improvement cycle includes an ongoing analysis of student performance data and is coordinated with a professional development plan designed to provide faculty and staff with opportunities for collaboration on research-based classroom strategies.
