A self-paced assignment using 3D anatomy software to facilitate on-line learning was implemented in the on-line A&P laboratory course. We wanted students to effectively demonstrate concepts they had learned so that they are able to present their knowledge through the course assignments.  Any 3D anatomy modeling software can be used so students across different programs or locations can obtain accurately clear visual images of anatomical structures that can be viewed from different angles by the students. Student evaluations at the end of the course demonstrate that the assignments were helpful and effective for them to achieve their learning goals.
