Capstone Description:
Provide recommendations and resources to promote effective and efficient information sharing through the mapping of current information sharing practices and policies:
1. Conduct a survey of data sharing knowledge, needs, and challenges among key stakeholders involved in child welfare and juvenile justice.
2. Conduct legal analysis of state and federal confidentiality and information sharing policies.
3. Develop and disseminate an information sharing guidebook.
4. Develop sample MOUs to be used for local agencies.
5. Identify several pilot sites to implement best information sharing practices.
Capstone Update:
The team has finished drafting an Information Sharing Guide and obtained endorsement of the guide's content, and developed a website and mobile app to distribute the Information Sharing Guide, designed to be accessible in the field for staff even when no internet is available.

Capstone Description:
Implement a nurse-family partnership program, a community health program that provides support and training for mothers pregnant with their first child. The program pairs expectant mothers with a registered nurse, who promotes the mother's health, proper care of the child, healthy environments, and parents' life course development.
Capstone Update (2024):
The nurse family parternship program was successfully implemented and has now expanded statewide. Reissaus retired from Goodwill and NFP in 2015.

Capstone Description:
To address racial and ethnic disparities in LaPorte County, the team plans to develop strategies to collect data on law enforcement stops, develop and implement a decision-making tool at the arrest decision point, and facilitate a law enforcement/youth training to build positive relationships.

Capstone Description:
Develop a diversion program to help crossover youth experience a seamless transition to school, home, and community that is culturally sensitive, individualized, and increase equal opportunities to succeed re-entry. The program's primary goal is to decrease academic failure when they return to traditional school settings from supervised community-based or structured residential care.
Capstone Update (2012):
The diversion program was implemented in July 2011, and Linda is working to increase enrollment through community awareness initiatives.
