3rd Grade Reading Enrichment:
The curriculum provides time for the student to pursue enrichment or accelerated learning activities. This could include any of the following:
Shared Inquiry
Choice menus
Research
Alternative texts that provide challenge or opportunities for advanced application
Advanced content learning
Enrichment learning activities that enhance process skills
4th Grade G&T:
Project 1: Ignite the environmentalist within each student. This project will develop students’ aptitude for teamwork, leadership, research, and critical/ creative thinking. Strengthening those attributes with real world knowledge about human impact on the environment providing all the tools needed to flourish in the 21st Century.
Project 2: BizWorld will help foster the entrepreneurial spirit, as we continue to engage students in leadership opportunities. Students will need to apply real world knowledge about entrepreneurship, business and financial responsibility; all the tools needed for success.
5th Grade G&T:
Project 1: The goal of the STELLAR unit is to give our gifted learners the opportunity to participate in an inquiry based research project. Students will be given a variety of methods to demonstrate mastery. This unit is student-centered, with opportunities of flexible grouping based on readiness, interests and abilities.
Project 2: Creating a personal budget is an ongoing lifelong skill. This concept-based project is a way to use math skills and apply them to real-life situations and use critical thinking and decision-making skills to “survive” on your own for a year.
5th Grade Community Service:
Students will be given the opportunity to be involved in a school based community service effort.
4th & 5th Grade Math Enrichment Support:
Teach to One Roadmaps, or another adaptive math program, enables students to progress on a precise tailored learning path towards grade-level math proficiency and beyond.
