2013 - 2014 Robotics Schedule
October 24th, 2013 - Wizard of Oz Challenge: The first competition will be a repeat of the FINAL Challenge from last year. We will combine student created challenges along with county office challenges. These challenges will be selected based on difficulty since this is the first competition of the school year. This event will be held in 3 locations with a middle school site and two elementary school sites.
December 10th, 2013 - Tractor Pull, Sumo, Dragster: Middle School Teams and interested Elementary School Teams will compete in these 3 events.
February 27th, 2014 - Farm to Fork Challenge: This farm themed competition will challenge teams to pick Corn, pick apples from trees, pick up and deliver crates to a loading dock, place items on a conveyor belt to simulate processing or place grain on a grain elevator, paint a white picket fence, use gps to plant crops and much more… Five to six challenges will be presented for students to complete in the first of two in a series. April 4th, 2014 - Farm to Fork Challenge: School Teams will unveil their John Deere limited edition Davie County tractor built out of Lego NXT Mindstorm parts. This working prototype will be displayed at the final competition along with a thinglink digital presentation that will include images, video and text to describe their prototype. Teams will continue with a repeat of the first Farm to Fork challenges plus five to six all new challenges in a double elimination tournament. This tournament will be held at Davie County High School.
