Auditions and Rehearsal Information

Auditions Dec 3-4, 2025

The Show

Feb 12-14, 2026, Smoky Hill HS Theater will be presenting Jekyll & Hyde, The Musical, about a London doctor who experiments on himself and accidentally unleashes his evil alter ego, Mr. Hyde, who then wreaks havoc on the city.

Auditions: Be prepared with a one to two minute monologue of your choice (preferably dramatic, and should be memorized).  For those who have not auditioned before, there will be options for cold readings, and pre-selected monologues at the workshops on Monday and Tuesday.

Vocal and Dance Auditions: Vocal and Dance audition music will be posted online, and will be reviewed at the workshops Dec 1-2.

Call Backs: Be prepared for Call Backs on Friday, Dec. 5, after school.  Cast lists will be posted by Mon. Dec. 8 on the drama Call Board and on the SHHSdrama.com website.

Auditions Check-In: There will be a sign up list for your audition slot.  Complete the Audition Info Form online, and check-in near the Green Room ten minutes prior to your audition slot after school on your audition day. (The Green Room is the performing arts hallway entrance to the auditorium.)  Auditions slots will run until 6:00 pm.  Bring a photo (or we can photocopy your student ID or take a picture of you) and a résumé of performance experience if you have one!

Rehearsals: Rehearsals will be held Monday-Friday 3:30-6:00 PM beginning Dec. 8 through Friday Feb. 13, all-day Saturday Feb. 7 and evenings from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM the entire week of the show, Feb. 9 - 13.  It is imperative that you have no rehearsal conflicts and can commit to 99% of rehearsal times.  No rehearsals during Winter Break.

Rehearsal Schedule

December 8 - February 13, Monday - Friday

after school until 6:00 pm

Saturday, February 7 – all day

February 9 - 14 – Evenings until 9:30 pm

Tech Crew and Stage Help: A tech crew is needed for lighting, sound, props, scenery and other techie stuff.  There will be a tech sign-up list posted December 8 and application forms online for those interested. 

Tech Crew will have the same schedule as the cast rehearsal schedule.
