Turntable Mixer Help Doc
We have very recently been blessed with three wonderful additions to the synth room at Steinert: two Technics turntables and an Allen&Heath Xone 23C mixer. This doc will walk you through the basics of using these very exciting instruments!!
Lift up the protective plastic cover on each turntable and place your records. Be sure that the arm for each record player is off to the side. Additionally, turn on the mixer (the power switch is on the backside of the mixer) and turn the master volume down or to an appropriate level.
Turn the record player(s) on by turning the dial on the bottom-left to the right.
Push the start-stop button on the bottom-left of the player(s). Make sure the correct RPM button next to the start-stop button is illuminated.
Release the arm from the protector by flicking the little black plastic semi-circle up.
Use the lever to the right of the arm to raise the arm.
Move the arm over the record and lower it by pushing down on the lever.
On the mixer, make sure that the level for each turntable is at an appropriate level. Raise the master volume as needed.
The mixer comes with EQ knobs (for each turntable and for the master), a crossfade, and lowpass/highpass filtering. To use the filters, adjust the frequency and resonance and then push the “FILTER” button for the turntable(s) to which you’d like to apply the filter.
To use with software, plug in with usb cord and download XONE: 23C drivers. Usable with most DJ softwares including NI Traktor, Djay Pro, etc
