Microphone Closet, Synth Cabinet, and Amps

Keys to the microphone closet and synth cabinet are stored in the lockbox on the closet doorknob.

Condenser Microphones

• 2 AKG Perception 420 – Switchable pattern (cardioid, omni, figure-8), large diaphragm. Good for vocals, instruments, and speech.

  • Store in its shock mount to prevent damage.

• 2 AKG C314 – Multi-pattern condenser (cardioid, supercardioid, omni, figure-8). Comes with a shock mount, clip, and windscreen.

• 1 Audio Technica AT825 – Stereo condenser (two cardioid patterns at a 100-degree angle). Ideal for drum overheads, piano, acoustic guitar, and room miking.

  • Requires a special 5-pin to dual XLR (left/right) cable—keep with microphone.

• 2 Audio Technica AT Pro37 – Small diaphragm cardioid condenser. Good for instruments, drum overheads, stereo techniques, and room miking.

• 1 Mogami MXL V69 – Cardioid large diaphragm tube condenser. Produces a warm, slightly colored sound due to its tube circuitry.

  • Requires a separate power supply box included in the kit.

• 2 Studio Projects B1 – Cardioid large diaphragm condenser. Modeled after classic Neumann mics, versatile for vocals and instruments.

• 2 Studio Projects C4 – Small diaphragm condenser with interchangeable capsules (cardioid, hypercardioid, and omni).

  • Handle with care when swapping capsules—ensure proper threading before tightening.

• 2 Neumann TLM 103 – Large diaphragm condenser, great for vocals, instruments, and room sound.

• 1 Avantone CK-40 – Stereo multi-pattern condenser.

  • Top mic can be rotated for M-S recording.

  • Requires a special 5-pin to dual XLR cable and converter box—keep with microphone.

  • Heavy mic—hold onto it when securing in shock mount.

Dynamic and Ribbon Microphones

• 1 Behringer ULTRAVOICE XM8500 – Cardioid dynamic, similar to a Shure SM58.

• 1 Shure SM57 – Cardioid dynamic, a classic for snare drums and instruments.

• 2 Shure Beta 56A – Cardioid dynamic, excellent for toms, snare, and percussion.

• 1 Sennheiser e609 – Supercardioid dynamic, designed for guitar amps. Can be hung over a grille cloth.

• 2 Cascade Vin-Jet Ribbon Mics – Classic figure-8 ribbon mics, excellent for vocals, overheads, and instruments.

  • Comes with two shock mounts and a Blumlein bar for stereo miking.

Direct Boxes and Pre-Amps

• 3 Whirlwind IMP2 – Passive DI boxes for electric instruments.

• 1 Behringer Tube Ultragain Mic100 – Tube preamp/DI box.

• 1 Dual RDB – 2-channel reamplifier & direct box for sending DI guitar/bass tracks from DAW to an amp.

• 1 SplitComPro – Mic splitter/combiner with balanced XLR connections.

• 1 Minibrute 2 – Analog synthesizer.

• 1 Avantone CK-40 – Stereo multi-pattern condenser mic.

• 2 Neumann TLM 103 – Large diaphragm condenser microphones.
