Olivia Wang '05, an art consultant and curator, joined us for a roundtable dinner discussion about art collecting and investing. Olivia shared her insight and experience as a collector, as well as some insider information on navigating the ever-growing art market. Topics such as how to start collecting, choosing a focus, and the concept of art as an alternative investment were discussed.

Olivia Wang’s Bio
Olivia Wang (’05) is an art consultant and independent curator based in Hong Kong with over 10 years of industry experience. Her writing has been published in the Wall Street Journal, ArtAsiaPacific, Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art, among others. She is also the Representative of the Ink Society, a non-profit organisation dedicated to fostering a greater understanding and appreciation of ink art. Olivia was formerly a specialist in the Chinese Works of Art Department at Sotheby’s Hong Kong before joining the Saadiyat Island Cultural District in the United Arab Emirates where she developed public and exhibition programmes. Olivia played chamber music as a cellist at Brown and concentrated in Egyptology. She also received her MPhil in modern and contemporary Chinese art from Oxford University.
