Summer Reminder 7/24

We hope you are having a great summer! We wanted to let you know that our Main Office is officially back open from Monday-Thursday from 9am-2py. Last week we began responding back to any family inquiries and messages.

Summer Reading Correction

Our previous communication shared that the following resources for 7th and 8th grade students. However, the Summer Reading resources are for rising 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. As a reminder, each summer, we ask students to read a total of at least three texts during the months of July and August in order to maintain their strong literacy skills they have worked to build upon all year. Students should complete the activities in the packet and contribute to the 'CHMS Reads!' Flipgrid Wall in order to share about what they read! ELA teachers will collect Summer Reading packets in the fall, and students will be rewarded for completing this summer assignment. 


Family Income Form

As a friendly reminder, each year, all of our families, regardless of income, are strongly encouraged to complete the Family Income Application. Families should only submit one application per household. We ask that you complete this application no later than Friday, 9/8. More detailed instructions for how to fill out the Family Income Application was shared on Friday, July 21st.

If you believe that your family does not qualify for additional services, we kindly ask that you still complete the application to ensure that our school information is as accurate as possible. 100% completion rate is a metric that can impact our funding. There is also the option of opting out of submitting your income information by checking the check box at the beginning of the survey.

A family's status does not carry over and must be updated annually. After completing this form you will be provided with a receipt via email that states all the students who were included in your household. You will have to complete an additional application for any missing students.
