Clinton Hill Middle School Update

Math Mock Exams, Wednesday, March 6 & Thursday, March 7

Students will be taking the Math Mock Exam on Wednesday, March 6th and Thursday, March 7th. Students can review on Khan Academy beforehand. Be sure that your child gets a good night sleep and eats breakfast on the morning of these mock assessments!

 

BPCS 2019-2020 Re-Enrollment

Families that have completed the re-enrollment process for the 2019-20 school year, thank you for your submission! Many of our families have responded, and are ready to join us for the upcoming school year!

If you have not yet completed the re-enrollment form, please do so as soon as possible by logging into your personal account on TeacherEase. Log-in inquiries can be directed to your registrar.

 

PTSO-Sponsored Winter Dance - Friday, March 1

CHMS Winter Dance will be hosted by PTSO on March 1 from 5:30-7:30pm in the Commons and is open to all Clinton Hill students.  The theme of the night is Glow in the Dark so students are encouraged to arrive in glow in the dark accessories.

Please note that students will not be granted entry without a permission slip in-hand or on-file. See permission slip here.

 

BPCS 10 Year Anniversary Celebration & Auction

Join BPCS to celebrate a decade growth and success. On Saturday evening, March 23rd, our parent led 10 Year Anniversary Celebration & Auction will feature food and drinks, entertainment, dancing, and games. This is the time for us to come together and support BPCS' mission of providing world class academics to a diverse community of students. We appreciate your support of this work! Seeking Feedback on PTSO-Vending Machine Project

Our PTSO Treasurer, Celeste Spicer, has been working on the details of securing a PTSO owned vending machine to serve as a passive income stream for the PTSO. She is seeking input and feedback from the parent community on this project. Please complete THIS brief survey to share your thoughts.

 

STEAM Super Summer Camp @ St. Joseph’s College

Looking for a robust summer experience for your child? The Learnatory is an innovate, premiere, STEAM Summer Camp for those entering grades 2nd through 10th located on the beautiful campus of St. Joseph’s College in Clinton Hill.  Registration is open now for Summer 2019. SAVE THE DATE: Student Led-Conferences, Wed & Thurs, Mar. 20th & 21st  

On March 20th and 21st, Student-Led Conferences will be held at Clinton Hill Middle School. Students will be dismissed early at 1:30PM  and there will be no After School programming. During the conference, you can expect the following:

8th Grade

8th Grade Major Projects & Academic Updates

Advisory: In 8th grade advisory, students will continue to discuss Black History and select one important historical or current African American individual to recognize and design a poster discussing their contribution to our society. Students will participate in a gallery walk to share with other advisories.

ELA: Students will be participating in a classroom performance of the trial scene within To Kill A Mockingbird. At home, students will be investigating the Scottsboro Boys trial that took place in the 1930s. Students will compare these court proceedings in a graded socratic seminar next week!

 

7th Grade

7th Grade Major Projects & Academic Updates

Advisory: In 7th grade advisory, students will continue to discuss Black History and select one important historical or current African American individual to recognize and design a poster discussing their contribution to our society. Students will participate in a gallery walk to share with other advisories.

Math IA #2: On Wednesday, February 27th (Period  3) & Thursday, February 28th (Period 4) Math 7 classes will take the Math IA #2.  Be sure that your child gets a good night sleep and eats breakfast!

 

6th Grade

6th Grade Major Projects & Academic Updates

Advisory: In 6th grade advisory, students will continue to discuss Black History Month - its importance and its origin in our culture. Students will also identify historical and current African American figures they appreciate and their contributions to the world. In addition, they will be learning how to be an ally to stand up to racism and injustice in our own communities.
