We support a variety of outreach programs that benefit the Needham Community and surrounding towns through the collection of non-monetary donations for programs such as:
For the last few years, we have donated books to the Brownies for Books program. Each year, Broadmeadow families donate their used books. A Book Swap is held so that children that donated a book can pick out a "new" book to take home. All remaining books are donated to the Brownies for Books program and distributed to area shelters and hospitals.
Open to Broadmeadow 3rd to 5th graders, Broadmeadow Cares gives students the opportunity to dive deeper into one or more of the PTC service programs. In the weeks before each service event, students are invited to stay after school to hear from representatives from the charity being supported, explaining what they do and why we are helping them. Following the presentation, students help create publicity for the event, by creating posters to hang in the building and writing announcements that they will read to the whole school. This group is free, but registration is required. Flyers will be sent home with more registration information.
