I have been teaching art at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School for 20 + years after earning my Masters Degree in Art Education from the College of Saint Rose. Prior to earning my masters degree, I worked as a professional designer and illustrator for Golub Corporation for 13 years after receiving my Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, also from the College of Saint Rose. At Golub, I worked in the Advertising department gaining experience in layout and design, illustrating food, yes food, and package design. By far, teaching has been a much more rewarding and enriching experience for me. My goal is to help my students realize their creative potential, as they learn to see, think and create as an artist does. Art is important. It allows us all to learn to persevere, think "out of the box" and look for solutions that may not have been thought of yet. The act of creating something in itself, is very rewarding. Art is "hands on", no matter what the medium, and it allows for "mistakes" to become successes. Art to me, is joy, which is why I love to teach art!
