Today we are going to spend some time illustrating our picture books.
It is important that you think about:
- what materials you will use to create your illustrations
- what style your illustrations are going to be
- whether certain illustrations will cover one or two pages
- what colours you will use - think back to when we studied colours in advertising in our HWOO unit
- what size your illustrations will be
What devices are you going to use?
Take a look at some of the famous illustrations shown below and the illustrations shown in Mrs Gardner's books. Think about which styles you like. Which features/devices shown in these could you use in your own illustrations?
