The HELL Reading Challenge is a well-established programme, now in its seventh year, which has been hugely successful in getting kids reading and enjoying the pleasures of stories — with the bonus of free pizza rewards
The HELL Reading Challenge is free, and it is so easy! Children receive a stamp on their pizza wheel for each book they read. Once they have read seven books, children can exchange their completed pizza wheel for a free 333 kids’ pizza at HELL.
While the country is on Covid-19 Alert Level 4, unfortunately no pizza wheels can be distributed. However, you can fill out the information from the "My Book Review" sheet in the back of your UOI Book or on a Google Doc and show this to Mrs G when we return to school to qualify for your free pizza.
Explore the Wonderopolis website, a place where natural curiosity and imagination lead to exploration and discovery. Each day, they pose an intriguing question - the Wonder of the Day - and explore it in a variety of ways.
Game of Awesome is a card game for 3-6 players designed to engage and inspire kids to tell stories and learn to write. Playing the game helps students generate ideas quickly which they can explore, expand and write stories.
The basic game has been produced as four sets of cards containing topics, themes and ideas that students years 5-8 will find interesting, involving and often ridiculous! The cards can be used independently or mixed and matched to create new combinations and infinitely more ideas.
The game is easy to learn for both students and teachers, quick to play and easily employs a range of learning outcomes by using new rules.
