Second Grade Newsletter 9/7/2012

We have scheduled our next field experience to Barr Lake on Tuesday, September 25th. Please look for the form in your child’s Friday Folder. We are excited about the many learning opportunities during this excursion!

Reminder about our kick off our Structural and Civil Engineering at The DaVinci Machines Exhibition at the Denver Pavilions (500 16th Street in Denver) on Saturday, September 8th! We will meet as a group outside at 9:45am and the teachers will collect the money to enter as a group at 10am so that we get a discount. If you haven’t responded (yes, no, or maybe), please do so on the SighUp Genius tonight (we only have 24 confirmed so far!).

Mr. Marshall helped us create our own badges to continue building our community. We used: http://bighugelabs.com/badge.php to learn how to import pictures, edit a descriptive paragraph.

Math homework is due on Monday, September 10th. Unit 2 math homework will be put on the USB drives on Monday. We would also like your opinion about our online social studies curriculum. We do not have access to it this year unless we pay $14 for each student, which unfortunately, we don’t have in our school budget. We would like to know if you feel it is worth the $14 for each student to have online access at home and school. This will allow them to have enrichment readings, social studies games, and the ability to have the text read to them. Please let us know what you think!
