Second Grade Newsletter

   This Tuesday, Dec. 4th our students will present their first Problem Based Learning on Prairie Dogs and their impact on the environment.  The students have been working in their collaborative groups researching and coming up with solution that they will present to our panel.We will be putting the students in collaborative groups to work as a team toward a common solution to present. We ask that all students come dressed “professionally” on presentation day.  We will stream it live and also we have planned a parent presentation on Thursday from 6:00 pm. to 7:30 p.m. in “The Commons”!  We hope you all attend.

    Beginning this week we will also begin mid year assessments.  We will do the MAPS testing in Math, Reading and Writing.  Then on Monday on assessment day, we will give the PALS test and Writing Assessment.  Please make sure you have signed up for a time for your child to come in on Monday.  You should have received an email from SignUpGenius.  Please let us know if you have not.

   Just an FYI all TCI accounts are up and running for our Social Studies program also.  Your child knows how to log on and can access this tool from home also.  Thank you again for giving this gift of learning to your child!  Also, thank you to the families that donated funds so that all students can have access!  What a great group of parents!
