Second Grade Newsletter 4/18/2013

Our Wolf PBL was a huge success! Not only was it great for our students, it benefited the high school panel members. We also enjoyed our time with STEM Launch!

We are hosting our Second Annual Sustainability Fair this coming Monday, April 22nd (Earth Day)! Please see the attached flyer or the website at: https://sites.google.com/a/adams12.org/stem-lab-s-2nd-annual-sustainability-fair/. The second grade students will be selling their upcycled notebooks they made in Enrichment. The other grade levels are participating as well as other “green” vendors! Please plan on bringing your family for some fun and learning. We are also in need of volunteers to help make this event successful, please sign up at: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/20F0B4AAEA828A02-sustainability

We are also looking forward to the catapult competition on Friday, April 26th at Front Range Community College! Please remember your child needs a sack lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat (maybe warm winter clothes as well if this weather continues). We will be outside for 3 hours, so please plan accordingly. We will also spend some time in the labs at the college after the competition.  Please let us know if you will be attending this trip!  We are excited to have the students enjoy a college experience - they can see what their future holds!

Goals for this week:

STEM Success “Lynx”

Thank you catapult mentors! The students have learned so much and we are almost done designing, building, and reengineering!

How can you help?!?!

Please make sure your child is completing their homework (IXL, math USB, writing prompts, and reading logs) for the next few weeks! Also, please sign up to help at the Sustainability Fair!
