Second Grade Newsletter 11/18/2012

-Thank you all for attending our Fairy Tale Re-Play!  The kids were cute and we hope you could hear most of it.  The sound was tricky and we have never had a performance there before.  Amazingly enough we don’t have access to a stage!  Thank you for your patience.  To think that the students learned all those lines, read all those words, learned songs, etc.  was magical in itself for only being in school for 12 weeks!  Congratulations and a huge thank you to Dr. Cannady for all of his wisdom, talent, and help!  Also, a thank you to Ms. Bennett for making the puppets with the students and to Mr. Marshall for streaming it live for us!  We know some families watched it in Florida while we were performing it live in Northglenn...COOL!!! True collaboration between staff and students!!!

-We will be going to Alpine Waste and Metech Recycling on Tues. Nov. 20th from 9:00-1:30 p.m. to learn about human impact and the adaptations people are trying to make to preserve our natural resources. The students will also be able to see motion and movement with the conveyor belts, machinery, magnets, etc.  We will be stopping at KFC for a little lunch break on our way back to school. We are taking over KFC’s lobby!!! Please feel free to join us and please return permission slips. The $8 fee can be paid online, check or cash.
