Air Weapon Shooting @ SAFRA Yishun, 20th Nov 2011

Post date: Oct 13, 2011 3:4:55 AM

The tremendous response of ACS (Barker Road) fathers to the Fathers@School Air Weapon Shooting event resulted in an exclusive session for our father-son teams on 20th Nov 2011. Excited fathers and sons, some with accompanying family members, turned up bright and early at Safra Yishun. Light refreshments was served before we all trooped expectantly into the shooting range. Azhar, our host for the event, introduced us to basic rules like “finger should never be in the trigger guard unless you are ready to shoot”, and “Always and only point your weapon at the target.” We also had the national junior shooting team there to demonstrate and guide us as we stepped up to the firing area.To add to the excitement, top father and son teams were scored, and prizes awarded to the top 3 teams. Prizes were also awarded to the top 3 boys. With a little time left, Azhar invited mums to have a go with the air rifles. And many mums turned out to be pretty sharp-shooters, too.

All in, it was a great morning!

“... Family@Barker rocks! Thank you for organising this father-son bonding activity and for taking the trouble to take the photos and put them up. They’re great!”
