Studies have shown that even though the brain takes up only 2% of our total body weight, it demands 20% of the total amount of energy our bodies expend - and that is on a lazy day.  What more for those preparing for the O level exams?!

With less than a month to the O level exams, many of our Sec 4 & 5 gentlemen have been staying back after school hours to revise for the upcoming national exams and consult their subject teachers. Between the second and fourth week of term 4, an army of almost 20 parent volunteers took turns to prepare afternoon tea for the 150-200 hungry gentlemen who stayed in school each day to complete their revision. The 20-30 students who chose to stay on till later were treated to a hot dinner brought in by parent volunteers.

In addition to filling their stomachs, parent volunteers were also present to provide the gentlemen with moral support, to lend listening ears and to pray with them. They were even given little cards with words of encouragement, which lifted up their spirits - in the same way the food lifted up their energy levels!

The Sec 4/5 Tea, Night Study Program & Prayer Support have been traditions that the Family@Barker is proud to have and we know that our gentlemen appreciate the efforts of our parent volunteers. We wish them all the best in the upcoming O level exams!
