ACS (Barker Road) had the honour of hosting the Combined Prayer Meeting for the 6 ACS schools on 23 August (Friday). It was well attended by 40 over prayer warriors who gathered to intercede for the ACS family of schools.

Mrs Tan Yen Yen (Family@Barker's Chairperson) opened the Meeting with a warm welcome address. This was followed by singspiration, led by Mr David Lim (parent volunteer) who also played guitar as music accompaniment. Everyone sang heartily unto the Lord. Rev. Jeremy Ong (Chaplain of ACS (Barker Road)) shared from Matthew 19:13-14 and exhorted us to be a generation of parents who will demonstrate faith and godliness to our children.

During the Principal’s speech, Mr Loo Ming Yaw spoke from Genesis 22:1-18. Abraham was commended for his faith because he obeyed God and did not withhold Isaac his only son from God. He trusted God to provide. We are reminded that God owns everything and we are stewards of what He has entrusted to us, including our children. We pray ACS(BR) will be good stewards of the students God has sent us and our ACS gentlemen will be God-fearing and growing in grace.

Mr Winston Soon (parent volunteer) prayed for the Principal, Mr Loo, and the Vice-Principals, Mrs Aw Meng Yin and Mr Jeffrey Tan, asking for God’s guidance and blessings upon them as they lead the school. This was followed by 30 minutes of corporate prayer in small groups. Ms Maureen Teo (Christian Ministry Staff) closed the Meeting in prayer. Fellowship breakfast was a feast, thanks to the ACS(BR)’s praying parents who generously contributed food for the event.

It was a memorable day, as we were bound together by the golden cord of God’s love!
