Lydia: “What hotel did you stay in?”
Lincoln: “I have no idea what hotel it was but it was within walking distance. It was not a Disney hotel though.”
First let’s talk about the history of this great amusement park. Disneyland’s history starts in the 1940’s. Walt Disney first spoke of an amusement park while watching his daughters ride a carousel. As he watched the girls enjoying the carousel, he dreamed of a place that families could appreciate together, where children could play while parents could relax. “The original idea was a small park with a boat ride and a few themed areas on an 8 acre plot across the street from Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, but Walt Disney’s ideas had just begun. It became clear they needed a much bigger space to hold the park they imagined. They eventually found a space at a cost that they could afford south east of Los Angeles purchasing a 160 acre orchard of orange and walnut trees in Anaheim. In 1954 construction began on that site just one year and $17 million later, Disneyland was ready to open its door to the public.”
Lydia: “When did you go to Disneyland?”
Lincoln: “I went to Disneyland last year during the middle of school. It was really fun but I also missed a lot of school which is bad because then I had to come home and spend my whole weekend catching up on the work I missed.”
Lydia: “How long did you stay at Disneyland?”
Lincoln: “5 days.”
Let’s take a look at the rides at Disneyland. At Disneyland there are about 52 rides. Lydia: “What was your favorite ride?”
Lincoln: “My favorite ride was probably the Indiana Jones ride because it's really fast but it's also slow in some parts so you can look around the ride but then you go really fast too.”
After a lovely ride on Indiana Jones, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Space Mountain, it is time for lunch. Some of the best things at Disneyland are the food. Some of the popular places to eat are Napa Rose, Goofy’s Kitchen, Alien Pizza Planet, Little Red Wagon, and other small carts set up around the park.
Lydia: “What was the best thing you ate at Disneyland?”
Lincoln: “The best thing I ate was this breakfast burrito. I got this at a random food concession stand there.”-Lincoln

They install these things called “Smellitizers”, these machines are located throughout the park. The “Smellitizers” diffuse scents of all sorts of pastries to make visitors feel like a tasty treat.
That’s not all the secrets that they hide. Walt Disney’s old apartment is located above the fire station. There is no official number of how many hidden Mickeys there are, but there have been approximately 1,000 spotted over the park and the hotels.
