Imagine that you are sitting waitlessly in an airplane just day dreaming and fantasying about your trip to HAWAII. You can almost feel the crystal clear blue water of the ocean sparkling in the sunlight. You're envisioning yourself sitting in the chairs on the balcony of your hotel room eating a vanilla ice cream cone. The second you get off the plane you can feel the breeze and can almost taste the salt from the ocean.
Cole was 13 years old when he went to Hawaii for the first time with his family. He loved and cherished his trip and enjoyed everything he did. “I loved my trip to Hawaii.” Cole said. “It was amazing and I loved the food, the beaches and the culture there and it is really cool.” Although Hawaii is really fun it can also be an expensive trip with flights, hotels, food, and different kinds of activities. “Hawaii was really fun, I can’t believe I was able to do so many different things and experiences." Cole said. When I asked what his favorite activity was he said, "One of my favorite things I did in Hawaii was swimming with sea turtles.” Swimming with sea turtles can be really fun. In Hawaii, sea turtles are also protected by the state. This means that there are rules on how to act when you go swimming with sea turtles. “I loved being able to swim with the sea turtles.” Cole said. “I loved to be in the water with them even though I accidentally almost stepped on one of their shells.” Cole added. “Another really fun thing I did in Hawaii was go swimming at hot springs with my family. I liked it because it was a really cool experience .”
“I loved to be able to do so many cool things with my family.” Cole said.
I also asked Cole if he likes the food in Hawaii. He replied, “Yes, I really liked the food in Hawaii.” Then I asked him what his favorite thing he ate in Hawaii. He said, “My favorite thing I had to eat there was chicken and fried rice that I got from a local food stand. I liked it because one of my favorite foods are fried rice and I loved the flavor of the chicken with it.”
Hawaii also has a lot of nice beaches where you can make sand castles, tan, go swimming, and even relax and have a good time. “I loved going to the beach in Hawaii and one of my favorite things to do at the beach was swimming. One time when I went in the water, a wave hit me and I fell down under the water and it was kind of really scary.” Cole said. “Another time when I went to the beach I was helping my little sister make a sand castle and she accidentally sat on it once we were done and it was really funny.”
“Overall, Hawaii was a really fun trip that I enjoyed and I loved the culture and the communities there and all the fun things I was able to do.” - Cole Carmichael
