There are card operated laundry services available throughout the different residence buildings. Laundry detergent will be provided at the Information Desk in Macpherson College, room CX-1000, free of charge however participants are responsible for paying for the laundry service.
Participants residing in Burton’s Pond Residences (Guy, Gilbert, or Cartier) must check in at the Information Desk before doing their laundry, as they will be escorted to the Cluett Hall laundry room by a Village Services volunteer. The participant will receive a temporary accreditation pass to allow them access to the laundry room. This pass must be returned to the Desk within one hour of receipt.
Each bed will be provided with a fitted sheet, bed sheet, blanket, pillow and pillow case, one hand towel, and one bath towel, no face clothes will be provided. Towels can be exchanged during the week at the Information Desk located in Macpherson College (room CX-1000). Used towels must be returned before a clean towel is issued.
In the event that a participant has lost their towel and needs a new one, a new towel can be provided for a $5.00 fee at the Information Desk. As with all fees or laundry service only cash will be accepted for these purposes.
Participants in Macpherson College and Burton's Pond Apartments can also obtain additional hand soap and toilet paper from the Information Desk in Macpherson College. Participants in Paton College will have hand soap and toilet paper replenished by staff cleaning common washrooms.
On departure days, participants are asked to gather their used towels and linens and place them immediately outside their room or apartment door in the hallway, being sure to separate wet towels from other linens.
Each unit will have its own thermostat to control the temperature, however, there are restrictions on how low and high the settings can go. Please try to conserve energy where possible and adjust temperature controls when out of your room.
There is no air conditioning in any rooms, however each room will be equipped with a fan for cooling purposes.
All units will be cleaned before Arrival Day, and on Turnaround Day. The predetermined cleaning schedule is below, and includes a general tidy, sanitization of all surfaces/floors, as well as attending to garbage and recycling. Participants may visit the Village Services Information Desk, located in Macpherson College (room CX-1000) at any time for other requests (such as spills) that happen within the accommodations spaces.
Please place your garbage and recycling in the hallway just outside the door of your room by noon (12PM) daily to be collected by cleaning staff.
