Athletes, coaches and managers will stay in the Village at Memorial University campus residences. Rooms will vary depending on the building assigned and are a combination of dorm style residence with shared washrooms, suites with semi private washrooms and apartments which will be shared with up to seven others. Each building will have 24-hour access control and overnight security. Throughout your time in the Village you will have access only to your assigned building to which you have accreditation. Access to other buildings will not be permitted and violation of this policy will have repercussions.
The Village is fully operational from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. daily with early access to dining as early as 5:30 if required. There will be plenty of activities throughout the day, you can find more in the entertainment section. Quiet time is in effect at 11 pm each night, please be respectful of fellow athletes who are trying to sleep and prepare for competition. Curfew is at midnight and all participants must be in the rooms. Entry points to Games Village accommodations will be monitored by security, who are responsible for access control, and reporting of any infractions. Additionally volunteers will roam floors to identify and address issues. Any participants who violate curfew or cause damage will be reported to the P/T team designate which may result in a loss of accommodations privileges by the Host Society.
All participants are expected to abide by regulations and be respectful of premises throughout your stay. Each P/T is responsible for all damages or loss of Village property and furnishings, keys and access fobs. Any repair and/or replacement costs that are required will be charged directly to your province or territory.
There will be a bus waiting at the bus mall at all times for para athletes that need assistance to get anywhere within the Village.
Information Desk
Hours of Operation 6:00 am to 11:00 pm
The Athlete’s Information Desk is located in the Central Hub of Macpherson College, room CX-1000.
This Information Desk serves as a resource for all participants about all things relating to their Games experience such as, but not limited to, activities being offered at/around the village, schedules (entertainment, transportation, competition), dining hall and grazing station information, quiet areas, cultural services, wayfinding and campus maps, laundry information, lost and found, and general Canada Games information.
Information Kiosk
Hours of Operation: 8:00 am - 10:00 pm
The Games Village Information Kiosk is operated by Village Services volunteers and is located in the Bruneau Centre Atrium on the main floor. This Kiosk can be accessed by anyone visiting the Games Village spaces that are open to the public. This includes the academic buildings and outdoor spaces from the QEII Library, to the Science and Chemistry buildings. This is primarily a resource-only kiosk to respond to questions, provide directions, and help make connections to other services at the Village, and within the broader community. The Games Village Information Kiosk will also assist Lost and Found inquiries. The Information Kiosk also offers general information about the Games. This includes, but is not limited to, competition and festival schedules, ticket prices and general information about the games, tourism brochures, bus schedules and cab numbers, Village maps. Internally the kiosk can provide information to coaches and volunteers regarding such things as incident report forms, Canada Games Telecommunication Directory, Village Operations Manual and all related forms, and the Athlete’s Handbook.
