For me, 2007 was all about Thunderhawk. Sure, I listened to and loved those other four records in my Top 5 a whole lot ... but damn if my GRAVITY WINS! obsession didn't carry well into 2008.

I honestly don't remember too much about this year. I know that I worked a whole lot. In addition to my full-time job that kept me pretty tired, I was doing an awful lot of writing for a bigger publication out of Indianapolis called NUVO. I was also doing artist interviews for NPR and almost never sleeping. My second gen group of "music friends" was pretty well established at this point and thus pretty much every album on my list was celebrated/discussed a whole lot. By mid-2008 I had a whole lot of people listening to GRAVITY WINS! and by the end of 2007 I had a whole lot of people burned out on Ryan Adams and his excellent EASY TIGER.

Pretty good year for music, even if I don't remember too many highlights. I guess life was pretty boring in 2007. But, still, I'll be the last person to knock a year where a record like GA GA GA GA GA is only the eighth best of the year. Great year for sound.
