Harmony(?) Bracketless Banjo

Is it Harmony?

I am unsure about the history and maker of this Banjolele other than it has had a fairly extensive refurbishment including the fitting of a mandolin tailpiece and new vellum, new bridge, freshly enamelled tension ring with replacement screws, and a through re-varnishing.

The reason Harmony is my prime suspect for its origin is all circumstantial as I have never seen one quite like it. I have seen early, circa 1920 Harmony Ukuleles with a very similar headstock, (trying to emulate the top end Hawaiian models like my Kumalae style E). Harmony were very fond of putting a central stripe design down the neck of their early Banjoleles. Harmony did use an enamelled black tension ring with 8 screws on a lot of their bracket-less Banjoleles, (albeit with smaller screws and mine has been refinished so this might not have been the original finish?) The pre war German models I have seen were never as solidly made as this is, (thought a lot of the Harmony ones weren't either?)

On the minus side the bracket-less Harmony's of the period of the headstock were generally block built. The rear resonator would have been fitted without spacers and would have had the two Ss on the top half, (though mine may not be the original rear resonator?) and of course with no "foreign" marking what is it doing in the UK?

As the decoration on the neck and body match I don't think it is a separate neck added to body rebuild so on the basis of the evidence I will say its Harmony made from the very early 1920's
