Lucia Corral

Ph.D. Student - Applied Ecology (2012-18) (Dissertation)

Lucia was born in Guatemala, but grew up in Nicaragua and Mexico. As someone that was always fascinated with animals and how they live in their environments it is not surprising that Lucia ended up pursuing a degree in biology Universidad del Valle de Guatemala. Lucia would then go on to earn two master's degrees, one from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in Brazil and one from the University of Nebraska before joining our lab as a PhD student in 2012. As a PhD student, Lucia led a comprehensive program investigating the distribution and ecology of swift fox in Nebraska. In 2018, Lucia successfully defended her dissertation and is now a guest Scholar at the Department of Ecological Dynamics of the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research with Dr. Stephanie Kramer-Schadt.
