Lindsey Messinger

Hunter Survey Specialist (2015-17)

MS Student - Applied Ecology (2012-15)

(Thesis)

Lindsey is a Colorado native who from a very early age, developed a love for the outdoors and a passion for wildlife. These interests lead her to study Zoology and Environmental Studies at Ohio Wesleyan University after which she spent several years expanding her field skills working for several state and federal agencies in Idaho and Colorado. Lindsey received an MS degree in Geographic Information Science from the University of Denver in 2012 and joined the lab during that same time. Lindsey's thesis at UNL explored how hunters shape game populations and how game populations alter how hunters move across the landscape. This interest in the social aspect of wildlife management led to Lindsey leading the Hunter Survey Project from 2014-2016. After leaving Nebraska, Lindsey worked as a Upland Game Researcher for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and now works as a GIS analyst for USDA.
