Training weekend 29-30 November.

Outline Programme

Saturday - training in Mullaghmeen, Co. Westmeath.

Saturday night - accommodation in a hostel in Cavan, bring sleeping bags.

Sunday - to Lough Key for the Connacht Champs.

Cost will be approx €25 for food & accommodation, the final cost depends on the numbers.

The next junior squad training weekend is 29 - 30 November.

Training on Saturday 29th, the Connacht Champs on Sunday 30th.

If you haven't already entered the Connachts it's not too late, post your entry this weekend to get the cheaper rate.

Exact locations and details still be decided, but the weekend will include discussion of plans for 2009.

EYOC 2008

Kevin O'Boyle was 39th in M18 (out of 106 runners) at the EYOC 2008 Sprint in Solothurn on 12 October.

JHI 2008

In the closest JHI so far the final result between Ireland and Wales came down to the last two runners. Unfortunately for us victory went to Wales.

Wales 60 Ireland 58

Notable Irish performances were Áine Mc Cann 2nd W16 and Jack Millar 3rd M14.

The Irish juniors displayed pride, courage and determination to show their country in the best possible light. Their attitude should provide optimism for the future of our sport - lets hope they can carry this through to senior level!

With every year that passes the Irish juniors appear to believe in themselves more and more. Without doubt we will soon lose our customary bottom slot.
