JK2009 Northumbrian Hills

contingent of Irish juniors took part in the JK over Easter. Easter eggs were discarded in favour of Wilf's chocolate brownies! Podium finishers that deserve a special mention include Eoghan Knight (2nd, M10A, overall), Caoimhe O'Boyle (1st, W12, sprint) and Jill Stephens (3rd, W12, sprint), Niamh Corbett (2nd, W14, sprint), Aine McCann (2nd, W18, sprint) and Nicholas Simonin (3rd, M20, sprint). In the junior elite classes, Nick Simonin had a successful weekend finishing 4th in M20E, just off the podium. Relays

Due to a series of mishaps the Relay start times were delayed by an hour, which meant some juniors (Shane Hoare, Niall Ewen, Colm Moran) missed out on running having a plane to catch. In the re-formulated IJS teams Nick Simonin put in a storm of a run to just miss out on 3rd place in Ad hoc, and the MuCullough family came in an impressive 8th in the same class.
