Random Pictures From the Planning Meeting

Ann, Kaye, & Marilyn as they make fun of our beloved webmaster's nerdish qualities.  They were so shameful.  One pocket protector would have been enough, but two?  And there are the slide rules!  Too much.  Just way too much.

Here's Ann after repenting of her nefarious deed.  She looks the same to me as before she repented.  Maybe it wasn't true repentance.

Grady & Sarah King utterly repulsed by Ann's, Kaye's & Marilyn's making fun of the webmaster.

Hampton Latta wanted no part of their joke as he gritted his teeth in anger.

The Cooks.  But as they say, many hands . . . .

The Sign Brought by Clayton & Jane.  They thought that some of our alumni, in their old age,  might lose track of where they were at the reunion and would benefit from a constant reminder.

Jerry tried to get Jamey, Ken, and Herb to join him in singing the Handley Alma Mater, but Jamey objected.  He thought it would not be seemly for outsiders to sing our sacred school song even if they could sing on tune.

Oh Boy, getting ready to eat!  But, Jane, not yet.  Not yet!

Ann, Jane, and Carolyn:  Carolyn couldn't wait.  Jane kept telling her, "Not yet, Carolyn."  But Carolyn just couldn't wait.

Ann trying to keep Jane under control, a truly impossible task.

The Handley Banner

Some of the planners pretending to have a good time.

Marilyn was able to overcome her usual reticence aided by hand gestures.  Marilyn seems to have a true gift in holding others in a mesmerized state of consciousness as she explains her enormous popularity back in high school.  "It was just a matter of brains and good looks."

Jamey deep in thought about his football glory days of yesteryear while Jerry instructs Clayton in the finer points of cattle raising.  As you can see, Clayton is anxiously on the edge of his seat in anticipation of new insight.

Jerry beams in delight at the thought of the wisdom just imparted to Clayton.  Jamey, having not actually listened to what Jerry had to say, assumes he just told a joke and feigns laughter so as not to offend Jerry.  Meanwhile, Clayton tries to hide his amused disdain for Jerry's knowledge of cattle.  Jerry's completion of only one month of study in Animal Husbandry at Texas Tech just didn't provide the depth of understanding that Clayton would find all that enlightening.

Grady, being in possession of great self-assurance, maintains his profile posture while Ken possessing the very same self-assurance demonstrates it through a steady look right toward the camera.

Clayton discusses how to display the Handley banner with Linda.  Linda jumps immediately to the key issue  saying, "Clayton, you're not nailing that thing to my wall.  I don't care what Jamey agreed to."  Linda then realized her mistake and under her breath whispered, "So sorry Miss Odell, I know better than to end a sentence with a preposition, but Clayton just provoked me, and I momentarily lost control.  I'll try to be more careful in the future not to.  Darn, I did it again.  I promise, Miss Odell, I 'promise to really try.  Oh, drat, now I've split an infinitive."

Clayton found an alternative way of hanging the banner.  He enlisted the help of our web lackey, David, to hold the banner.  They finally found a task that he could do reasonably well.  Clayton just overlooked the fact that he had to hold the other end.
