External Projects
The Department of Bioinformatics & Computational Biology (DCB) accepts a limited number of students from other educational institutions for doing projects (M.Sc. Bioinformatics, M.Phil. Bioinformatics B.Tech. / M.Tech. Bioinformatics and also M.Sc. Computer Science / MCA). Emails should be sent only to dcb.uok(at)gmail(dot)com. Mails sent to individual faculty members shall not be responded. Only candidates whose interests and skill sets overlap with that of faculty or research students shall be accepted for projects. To maintain quality, from mid-2009 onwards, the number of seats has been severely restricted. Interested students are required to go through the website of DCB, identify their area of interest and the research guide working in the respective field. Prior to sending the application form, the candidates must get a reference letter from the concerned guide in DCB.
The project fee of External students undertaking live projects at DCB are as detailed below:
For students from State/Central Universities (Govt./Aided):
B.Tech / M.Sc students - Rs. 2,000/- per month
M.Tech / M.Phil students - Rs. 3,000/- per month
For students from self-financing colleges:
B.Tech / M.Sc students - Rs. 3,000/- per month
M.Tech / M.Phil students - Rs. 4,000/- per month
50% fee concession for students from SC/ST and BPL categories.
