Magnificent Pink Cake

This is the cake I made for my daughter, Katie Scarlett's 1st birthday. I tried to make a cake as pretty as she was.

. It is the most delicious vanilla cake, in my opinion.  I used a 6 Inch round cake pan

and an 8 inch round cake pan). These cake pans have nice straight sides, and I used Bake Even Strips when baking. I iced the cakes in buttercream icing colored pale pink. I made the roses with buttercream and tip 104. I made the roses a few days ahead of time and kept them in the fridge. I made the green leaves with buttercream and tip 67. The shell border was made with tip 32. The ruffle was made with tip 104. I used Wilton icing colors to color the buttercream. I stored the decorated cakes in the refrigerator until the party in plastic Wilton Cake Covers

.

 and Wilton Icing Tips

I made the chocolate cakes in 4 inch round cake pans

using Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake (which is my favorite chocolate cake mix). I iced them with chocolate ganache icing

I also made the cupcakes with Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Fudge cake. I used Wilton Drop Flower Tip #2D

to make the drop flowers and tip 3 to make the yellow centers.

It was a masterpiece that I felt accurately reflected the love I had for my little baby girl.

My little Katie Scarlett grew up to write and illustrate this darling children's book when she was 8 years old, "Princess katie and the Fairy Tea Party". Most little girls would love it! It is available on amazon.
