Post date: Mar 9, 2016 6:26:53 PM

The local Game Wardens offered a presentation to the Seco Mines Elementary 5th grade students on March 7th 2016. The presentation was to enhance students’ knowledge of responsible stewardship of our land and wildlife. The Game Wardens shared their job requirements and responsibilities. Fifth graders were escorted to a custom built trailer filled with native animals that included the wild turkey, fox, bass and even a bear. Students were able to see some homemade weapons and traps, all confiscated by Game wardens because of poaching or other illegal activities.. The Game Wardens shared specific information for each of the animals that allow them to live and survive in our area. Students had an opportunity to answer and ask questions. ”Mrs. Diego, our 5th grade Science teacher said.” It was great to have the Game Wardens visit our students and be able to share information that we cover in class as part of our 5th grade TEKS.”

Big thank you to the Game Wardens for sharing.

The students love it.
